These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Commando ("the App"), a product of Manticore Software. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. The App
Commando lets you save and run shell command sequences from your menu bar, locally or via SSH, using terminal applications on your Mac. The App is provided for your personal or internal business use.
2. Your Responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
The commands and command sets you create, save, and run
Any servers, systems, or data affected by those commands
Keeping SSH credentials and access secure
Ensuring you have permission to access any systems you connect to
Commando runs commands in your terminal environment. Manticore Software does not control, review, or guarantee the outcome of commands you execute.
3. No Professional Advice
The App is a utility tool only. It does not provide system administration, security, or IT advice.
4. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Manticore Software does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that command execution will meet your requirements.
5. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MANTICORE SOFTWARE AND ITS DEVELOPER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP OR ANY COMMANDS YOU RUN THROUGH IT.
6. External Services and Links
The App may open update links that open the Mac App Store or a direct download page, depending on how you installed the app.
7. Updates
Manticore Software may release updates to the App. Update availability may vary by distribution channel (for example, Mac App Store or direct download).
8. License and Registration
Commando is licensed, not sold. When you purchase Commando, Manticore Software grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Mac computers you own or control, subject to these Terms and any applicable purchase terms.
Registration requires a valid registration key issued by Manticore Software (or an authorised reseller). You must register using accurate information. A registration key is for your personal or internal business use only and must not be shared, resold, published, or transferred to others except as expressly permitted by Manticore Software in writing.
Manticore Software may use technical measures to verify registration, enforce licensing, detect misuse, and protect the App. By using the App, you consent to such measures, including periodic online checks where available.
9. Version Requirements and Service Continuity
Manticore Software may release new versions of the App at any time. You agree that Manticore Software may require you to install a minimum supported version to continue using registered features, online services, or license validation related to the App.
If you continue to use an older version after a newer version is available, Manticore Software may, without notice or liability and without refund or compensation:
Limit, suspend, or terminate access to registration, updates, or other online services for that older version;
Refuse to validate or honour registration on that older version; and
Require you to update before restoring full access to registered features.
Manticore Software is not obligated to maintain, support, or provide services for any particular version of the App indefinitely.
10. Prohibited Conduct and License Enforcement
You must not, and must not permit others to:
Copy, modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of the App except as permitted by applicable law;
Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the App, except to the limited extent expressly permitted by applicable law;
Remove, alter, or circumvent any copyright, trademark, registration, activation, integrity, or other technical protection measures in the App;
Use cracked, patched, modified, or unauthorised versions of the App;
Share, distribute, sell, or publicly disclose registration keys or methods to bypass licensing;
Use the App in a manner that infringes the rights of Manticore Software or any third party; or
Tamper with, interfere with, or attempt to evade license verification, revocation, ban, or update requirements.
Manticore Software may investigate suspected violations and enforce these Terms at its sole discretion.
11. Revocation, Bans, and No Refund for Misuse
If Manticore Software reasonably believes you have violated these Terms or engaged in tampering, cracking, piracy, unauthorised sharing, circumvention of licensing, or other misuse of the App or registration system, Manticore Software may immediately suspend or permanently revoke your registration and ban associated license identifiers, with or without prior notice.
Revocation or banning may apply across versions of the App and may persist even if you are offline or unable to connect to Manticore Software services.
No refund will be provided for registrations revoked or banned due to violation of these Terms, suspected fraud, or misuse of the App or licensing system. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Manticore Software shall have no liability arising from such revocation or banning.
Nothing in this section limits any rights or remedies Manticore Software may have under law or other agreements.
12. Changes to Licensing and These Terms
Manticore Software may modify registration requirements, licensing enforcement, supported versions, and these Terms at any time. Updated Terms take effect when posted on our website. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If you do not agree to updated Terms or licensing requirements, you must stop using the App and may contact Manticore Software regarding your registration, subject to these Terms and applicable law.
