Game Packs allow you to install hand-picked game bundles directly into GameBox with one click. Game Packs can easily be shared or kept as pre-defined collections for personal use.
Use Game Pack Creator to create Game Packs that can be shared to other users, or kept as pre-defined collections for personal use.
Example use-case:
You have multiple Macs, one for yourself and one for your children. You want to keep your games separate from your childrens, and need to install all games across both computers.
You could create both kids, and personal Game Packs with Game Pack Creator. On one Mac you open your personal profile in GameBox, then install the personal Game Pack. Then open a child's profile and install the kids Game Pack. You can then do the same on the other Mac, or any number of times going forward. You could also package and share these Game Packs with others.
Before creating a Game Pack, you need to create a folder/directory somewhere that will contain the game files for the pack. This directory is what you will bundle/distribute when sharing your Game Packs.
With Game Pack Creator open, click the Select Game Pack Folder... button to select this directory. When you specify a directory, it will be searched for valid games. You may need to remove some items from the list as sometimes generic application files like Registration tools, manuals are misidentified as games etc.
Next, click the Save Game Pack button, which creates a Pack file in the same directory as your games. Do not remove the pack file, this must remain in the same directory as your games for it to work.
Once you have the game directory which now includes a Pack file, you can package this for distribution (e.g. compress the directory with Stuffit and share the archive).
Game Packs can be installed by double clicking the Pack File inside the game directory, or by opening GameBox, then selecting the File Menu > Install Game Pack.
